The hydraulic press has no fixed stroke, will not be overloaded due to changes in the thickness of the sheet, and has obvious advantages compared with mechanical presses when a large force stroke is required for fabrication. However, the speed of the hydraulic press is slow, the productivity is low, and the dimensional accuracy of the parts is sometimes not very stable due to the influence of operating factors.

The friction press has the characteristics of simple structure, low cost, and is not prone to overload damage, so it is often used to complete stamping work such as bending and forming in small batch production. However, the number of strokes per unit time of the friction press is small, the productivity is low, and the operation is not very convenient. In mass production or mass production with complex shapes, high-speed presses or multi-station automatic presses should be used as far as possible.
